External Communications

An external corporate communications plan is intrinsic to any reputation strategy.

A good external communications plan relies on a robust content strategy based on company activities, financial reporting, leadership communications & more.  A great communications/reputation strategy should be omnichannel - across selected appropriate digital channels including company owned media (like your company website and digital channels) as well as traditional media. A good plan should also target delivering 'earned media' - media that is not paid for by your company but earned as a result of newsworthy company activities.

Companies do not have two discreet audiences - one internal & one external.  Your staff are also part of your broader external audience.  So, while internal & external messaging is not the same, it must be consistent.   Building a great external communications program and corporate reputation also builds pride among employees - helping to build an engaged workforce.

External communications should be an omnichannel media strategy

Having the right external communications plan with the right content & stakeholders is also an important facet of a robust governance program.
